Spectators: 6695 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1695, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Paco Sirvent took the kick off in the first half of the match. Santander SD's Mambru Reyes got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Xaiver Guerrero sped through Sangonera Cantonal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Agustín Palacios. After 8 minutes of play, Santander SD's Paco Sirvent made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Agustín Palacios was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Paco Sirvent got free with Agustín Palacios in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 17 played minutes Santander SD got a freekick which was hit by Luke Menendez. Sangonera Cantonal's Chepe Villafane got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Sangonera Cantonal's zone, Paco Sirvent stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agustín Palacios came out of the goal and Paco Sirvent tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aladino Echeto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Macías in the 27th minute of play. Paco Sirvents short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Agustín Palacios to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Sangonera Cantonal's zone, Luke Menendez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agustín Palacios came out of the goal and Luke Menendez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 35 minutes in the game, Mambru Reyes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Agustín Palacios having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chepe Villafane to make the kick off. The supporters of Santander SD booed when Sangonera Cantonal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anartz Zurica didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xaiver Guerrero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agustín Palacios read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Santander SD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luke Menendez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paco Sirvent sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mambru Reyes in the 91st minute of play forced Sangonera Cantonal's goalkeeper Agustín Palacios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Xaiver Guerrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustín Palacios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
