If Serafín Zubiaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Negro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Lope Ribas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Step by Step booed when Atletico Xerez C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cordaro Gabas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lope Ribas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Negro, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Xerez C.F.'s zone, Abrahan Hidalgo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. In the 72nd minute, Quilino Esteban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the game, Perico Irureta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Nicasio Galnares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Atletico Xerez C.F. played a much better game than Step by Step and deserved their victory. The Step by Step players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
