When AEDUJA's Milton Zubizarreta, in the 27th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for AEDUJA. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anatolio Cordoba during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th minute, Anatolio Cordoba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matthias Hedvall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Tavio Benito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Milton Zubizarretas short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Tavio Benito to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Casildo Abril fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tavio Benito having to interfere. In the 44th play minute Milton Zubizarreta came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tavio Benito. 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Milton Zubizarreta was the one to do the kick off. AEDUJA's Milton Zubizarreta got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthias Hedvall in the 54th minute of play forced Piñera's goalkeeper Tavio Benito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tavio Benito came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by AEDUJA's Milton Zubizarreta. But to his dismay, Milton Zubizarreta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matthias Hedvall in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tavio Benito saved Piñera from getting behind. With an all-out effort, Piñera's Aniol Durango threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Francesco Quintana, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 63 minutes into the match, Piñera's goal looked a bit too open when Milton Zubizarreta came free, but Tavio Benito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Aintza Urbina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peio Verdaguer hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Anatolio Cordoba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Milton Zubizarreta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tavio Benito was relentless in the 71st minute of the game.
