An unexpectedly hard shot by Guillermo Figueroa in the 7th minute of play forced Benicalap's goalkeeper Alfonso Maestro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th match minute, Benicalap was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlo Puyol to maneuver through the defense. When Joselito Valerón fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Benicalap's protests and gave Joselito Valerón a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Hoz De Anero booed when Benicalap was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joselito Valerón didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfonso Maestro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aita Canosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After having played for 14 minutes, Aita Canosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hoz De Anero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aita Canosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 17 minutes, Lorenz Villafane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Elisardo Diaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Benicalap's supporters rose to their feet, but Elisardo Diaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serafín Canyelles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Benicalap booed when Hoz De Anero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymond De Pablo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Joselito Valerón sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Hoz De Anero's Serafín Canyelles didn't even have to move. Xofre Tobias who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Serafín Canyelles when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aita Canosa made a kick off. Haroldo Sampil kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. If Elisardo Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alifonso Sabina kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Elisardo Diaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 67th minute, Elisardo Diaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Benicalap's goalkeeper Alfonso Maestro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillermo Figueroa. Aita Canosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Alfonso Maestro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guillermo Figueroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xofre Tobias in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serafín Canyelles saved Hoz De Anero from getting behind. Aita Canosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfonso Maestro having to make a save. In the 97th minute Elisardo Diaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafín Canyelles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Benicalap fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hoz De Anero had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
