Eduino Gibert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niceto Salan having to interfere. René Pedraza thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Niceto Salan, a very annoying self made goal in the 41st minute which led to 0-2. In the 44th match minute, Hortaleza AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduino Gibert to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hortaleza AFC's goalkeeper Eligio Arratia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Hortaleza AFC booed when LIFA UNITED was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kelemen Astudillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hortaleza AFC's Maureo Orbiz got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Eduino Gibert came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Hortaleza AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduino Gibert couldn't finish the play. 75 minutes into the match, Hortaleza AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Anastasio Sierra came free, but Eligio Arratia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 79 played minutes LIFA UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Ponc Gene. After having played for 81 minutes, Eduino Gibert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hortaleza AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduino Gibert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maureo Orbiz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Niceto Salan made a huge save. If Maureo Orbiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the match, LIFA UNITED's Anastasio Sierra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eligio Arratia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Hortaleza AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
