Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Severino Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Los Trotamundos F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Ortiz couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gamus Macías in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matias Beloki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. El Porrosillo's Matias Beloki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gamus Macías in the 62nd minute of play. After 68 played minutes El Porrosillo got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Ocaña. 71 minutes into the match, El Porrosillo's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Ortiz came free, but Matias Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
