After 7 minutes of play, Cuenca FC's Carlos Andres made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florentino Laredo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carlos Andres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Florentino Laredo made a huge save. Doroteo De la Torre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quirce Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Pello Muelas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Laredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, club atletico libertad's goalkeeper Florentino Laredo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Andres. Carlos Andres struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Florentino Laredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cuenca FC. Silviano Riells received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Florentino Laredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Pello Muelas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Florentino Laredo was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. If Pello Muelas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florentino Laredo made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Carlos Andres sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Atilio Machado hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Florentino Laredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Andres in the 55th minute of play. Florentino Laredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, Everardo Vicente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florentino Laredo. club atletico libertad's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Everardo Vicente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Carlos Andres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pello Muelas took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Florentino Laredo. Florentino Laredo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 80th minute, Cesaro Canturri reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Doroteo De la Torre. The goal made the score 3-1. Cuenca FC's Carlos Andres got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Andres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cuenca FC fully deserved thier win.
