Spectators: 6676 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1676, VIP seats: 0) El Algar's Madaleno Fresnos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Efraín Santalla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olaf Huarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xofre Vilanova kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. El Algar's Manolo Vidal shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 6th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gaizka Salan but with some difficulty. Julio Perpiñán charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Julio Perpiñán the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 played minutes Veigas got a freekick which was hit by Julio Perpiñán. If Quinton Jareño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Efraín Santalla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olaf Huarte in the 11th minute of play. Efraín Santalla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olaf Huarte's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Efraín Santalla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herberto Casals, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After a rather tough play, El Algar's Antoni Benedicto got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Quinton Jareño's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gaizka Salan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Efraín Santalla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olaf Huarte's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Herberto Casals managed to get in a good position for a shot. Veigas's supporters rose to their feet, but Herberto Casals was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Efraín Santalla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 44 minutes into the match, Veigas's Herberto Casals sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Efraín Santalla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Quinton Jareños short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Gaizka Salan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Herberto Casals sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Olaf Huarte made the kick off in the second half. If Olaf Huarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Perpiñán could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Efraín Santalla made a huge save. Quinton Jareño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Gaizka Salan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olaf Huarte was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 69th minute. Veigas's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Efraín Santalla successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. El Algar's Efraín Santalla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save El Algar from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, El Algar's Tohias Castro got a free kick in the 79th minute. Olaf Huarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efraín Santalla having to interfere. In the 90th minute Olaf Huarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efraín Santalla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Herberto Casals recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Veigas players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
