Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Atlético's goalkeeper Guilabertus Canosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hector-Luis Sirvent. Teobaldo Diaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ekhi Dellasierra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Aznar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Frodo Cañadas's late challenge caught a Atlético's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frodo Cañadas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind ERREKA F.C.'s goalkeeper Teobaldo Diaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 18thth minute of the game Ekhi Dellasierra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ERREKA F.C.'s Teobaldo Diaz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Garci Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. When Frodo Cañadas was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 21 minutes had been played. The ERREKA F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teobaldo Diaz should have stopped the shot. Hector-Luis Sirvent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guilabertus Canosa having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Gabriel Aznar notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of ERREKA F.C.'s Teobaldo Diaz. Teobaldo Diaz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 39 minutes, Garci Vidal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ERREKA F.C. and the Atlético players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Ekhi Dellasierra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. ERREKA F.C.'s Teobaldo Diaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Aznar in the 43rd minute of play. Garci Vidal got his second yellow card in the match during the 47th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 48 played minutes ERREKA F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Garci Vidal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hegoi Infante stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Ekhi Dellasierra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético's supporters rose to their feet, but Ekhi Dellasierra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teobaldo Diaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Gabriel Aznar came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Atlético fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Aznar couldn't finish the play. Gabriel Aznar was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 59th match minute, ERREKA F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector-Luis Sirvent to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ekhi Dellasierra got free with Teobaldo Diaz in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atlético were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after ERREKA F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tato Alonso took the corner. Gabriel Aznar struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Teobaldo Diaz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético. Thanks to some nice moves Ekhi Dellasierra could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Teobaldo Diaz however easily saved by the left post. 68 minutes into the match, Ekhi Dellasierra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Teobaldo Diaz, 0-3. Gabriel Aznar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ekhi Dellasierra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Teobaldo Diaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gabriel Aznar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Aznar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89thth minute of the game Gabriel Aznar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ERREKA F.C.'s Teobaldo Diaz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Teobaldo Diaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Aznar, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Hector-Luis Sirvent hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the match was over Atlético could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ERREKA F.C. throughout the match.
