In the 19th minute Edorta Cañadas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romualdo Cambero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Taio Benedicto notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ecija SAD's Romualdo Cambero. Romualdo Cambero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alexandro Moya hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Ecija SAD's Romualdo Cambero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taio Benedicto in the 31st minute of play. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecija SAD's goalkeeper Romualdo Cambero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Taio Benedicto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Sergio Patiño managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guardia's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Patiño was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romualdo Cambero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ritchie Barroso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ponce Ledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Romualdo Cambero made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Taio Benedicto sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Ecija SAD getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Medero Rajoi hit a great ball. Uriel Delgado hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ecija SAD's zone, Taio Benedicto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romualdo Cambero came out of the goal and Taio Benedicto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Taio Benedicto came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Guardia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taio Benedicto couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute, Angel Vila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecija SAD's Romualdo Cambero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Patiño in the 83rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edorta Cañadas got free with Romualdo Cambero in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Taio Benedicto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Romualdo Cambero firmly grabbed it by the left post. Romualdo Cambero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Patiño in the 87th minute of play. If Taio Benedicto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
