The tension between the RCD Apañaos and the JUAN PABLO II players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zenon Cameno hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Michel Vega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Anatolio Tarin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rosario Iglesias might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eder Portillo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When Oliviero Carrasco fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RCD Apañaos's protests and gave Oliviero Carrasco a yellow card for diving instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michel Vega was the one to do the kick off. In the 58th minute, Michel Vega ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anatolio Tarin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. JUAN PABLO II's Eder Portillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosario Iglesias in the 94th minute of play. When the match was over RCD Apañaos could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than JUAN PABLO II throughout the match.
