Eugenio Baños started the match with the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 6 minutes, Anastasio Urquijo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Eladio Marcos came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Cenicero's Eugenio Baños. But to his dismay, Eugenio Baños quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gil Campomanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Anastasio Urquijo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cenicero's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Duarte Saavedra 19 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Duarte Saavedra might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anastasio Urquijo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Duarte Saavedra ran back to his position shaking his head. When Duarte Saavedra came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the arenas vegaaa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duarte Saavedra couldn't finish the play. Eugenio Baños took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eladio Marcos. Eladio Marcos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duarte Saavedra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Eugenio Baños had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, arenas vegaaa's goalkeeper Eladio Marcos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iñaki Freire. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Casado Canturri during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 57 minutes into the game, one of arenas vegaaa:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 63 minutes into the match, arenas vegaaa's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenio Baños came free, but Eladio Marcos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eladio Marcos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iñaki Freire in the 66th minute. Cenicero's Iñaki Freire got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eladio Marcos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Baños in the 70th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Eugenio Baños's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eladio Marcos was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. In the 73rd minute, Eulalio Verdu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cenicero's Jesús Alacuart in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye arenas vegaaa's goalie prevented a goal. Etxave Dorado kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Eladio Marcos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iñaki Freire in the 84th minute. 92 minutes into the match, arenas vegaaa's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenio Baños came free, but Eladio Marcos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 97 minutes, Iñaki Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cenicero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iñaki Freire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Cenicero supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cenicero would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
