Telde from getting behind. 19 minutes into the game, Patrite's Eulalio Peña nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Atilio Orbiz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Eulalio Peña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. C.D. Telde's Atilio Orbiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kiko Barberá in the 33rd minute of play. Atilio Orbiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eulalio Peña in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tebaldo Zubizarreta in the 38th minute of play forced C.D. Telde's goalkeeper Atilio Orbiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 played minutes C.D. Telde got a freekick which was hit by Santos Gonzáles. The supporters of C.D. Telde booed when Patrite was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nabar Saez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eulalio Peña took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Atilio Orbiz. Atilio Orbiz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tebaldo Zubizarreta to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Regis Carballido in the 60th minute of play forced Patrite's goalkeeper Reinaldo Arraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Regis Carballido struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Reinaldo Arraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.D. Telde. After a defensive mix-up in Patrite's zone, Regis Carballido stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Arraz came out of the goal and Regis Carballido tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reinaldo Arraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Regis Carballido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Regis Carballido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinaldo Arraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Patrite's zone, Braulio Barberá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Arraz came out of the goal and Braulio Barberá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Santos Gonzáles managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.D. Telde's supporters rose to their feet, but Santos Gonzáles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinaldo Arraz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Regis Carballido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Tebaldo Zubizarreta took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Atilio Orbiz to make any attempt to save it. In the 88th minute, Rai Rienda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eulalio Peña got free with Atilio Orbiz in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. C.D. Telde's Atilio Orbiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tebaldo Zubizarreta in the 95th minute of play. The C.D. Telde supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Patrite's performance. The match ended with a win for Patrite.
