Iyan Abrego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kiko Castelao went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Iyan Abrego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Saez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36thth minute of the game Enol Soto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but R.C.D Toro's Iyan Abrego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in R.C.D Toro's zone, Kiko Castelao stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iyan Abrego came out of the goal and Kiko Castelao tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Castelao in the 42nd minute of play forced R.C.D Toro's goalkeeper Iyan Abrego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iyan Abrego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiko Castelao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 51st minute, Alicante FC's Kiko Castelao ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Iyan Abrego. Iyan Abrego yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Marco Saez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iyan Abrego having to interfere. During the 55th minute of the match Constancio Cainzos completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Constancio Cainzos a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Alicante FC's Kiko Castelao quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 81st minute Marco Saez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iyan Abrego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Alicante FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than R.C.D Toro.
