The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pedro Jofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moncho Mata, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After 6 minutes, Abel Bouzas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peña FC and the PPts FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th match minute, Peña FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Bouzas to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the match, Peña FC's goal looked a bit too open when Isaac Rodriguez came free, but Pedro Jofre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Moncho Mata cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Pedro Jofre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Peña FC's Pedro Jofre got control of the ball when Moncho Mata tried to sneak it across the goal line. PPts FC were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Peña FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Isaac Rodriguez took the corner. Mark Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 36th minute of the match, Moncho Mata got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pedro Jofre was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 41 minutes into the match, Goyo Pedraza notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of PPts FC's Canor Domenech. Canor Domenech was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Moncho Mata's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Jofre was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. A collision led to Peña FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Licerio Villafane hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Jerold Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Licerio Villafane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, PPts FC's Patricio Castaño got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 81st minute Moncho Mata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Jofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 played minutes Peña FC got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Prats. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Moncho Mata in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Jofre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Moncho Mata might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Jofre. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moncho Mata ran back to his position shaking his head. Moncho Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Jofre having to interfere. Patricio Castaño charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Castaño the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th minute, Patricio Castaño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to PPts FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Moncho Mata hit a great ball. The PPts FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
