Franco Naranjo struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. Ander Marquez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U.D La Espina. After 4 played minutes U.D La Espina got a freekick which was hit by Llorenc Mas. Sinforiano Raya recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Norberto Domenech kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Valery Higuera made a precise shot to the right of Ander Marquez. Gargantin's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a little luck, Gargantin's Ander Marquez got control of the ball when Valery Higuera tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valery Higuera got free with Ander Marquez in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Juan Blanco came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the U.D La Espina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Blanco couldn't finish the play. Juan Blanco's late challenge caught a Gargantin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Blanco helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gargantin booed when U.D La Espina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Blanco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cruz Llinares came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Gargantin's Cordario Palencia. But to his dismay, Cordario Palencia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The supporters of U.D La Espina booed when Gargantin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubarna Caminero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valery Higuera scored 3-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ander Marquez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 36 minutes, Juan Blanco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U.D La Espina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Blanco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of U.D La Espina booed when Gargantin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xacobo Saura didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 41 minutes, Anibal Beloki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gargantin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anibal Beloki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, U.D La Espina's Juan Blanco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ander Marquez. Ander Marquez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. Cleto Feliu hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Valery Higuera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Ander Marquez made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Valery Higuera in the 54th minute of play forced Gargantin's goalkeeper Ander Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gargantin's Ander Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Blanco in the 57th minute of play. Cordario Palencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Cruz Llinares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute Ignacio Carro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ander Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anibal Beloki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 68 played minutes U.D La Espina got a freekick which was hit by Llorenc Mas. In the 71st minute Juan Blanco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ander Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sinforiano Raya could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Cruz Llinares made a huge save. Gargantin's Ander Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Blanco in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Gargantin's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Blanco came free, but Ander Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The U.D La Espina fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gargantin had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
