The referee ignored FC Hambruna's protests and gave Jerrald Ramis a yellow card for diving instead. Jerrald Ramis kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 7th match minute, Grumos Blancos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antero Velasco to maneuver through the defense. Gaizka Montaña made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Mario Urruti sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antero Velasco in the 11th minute of play forced FC Hambruna's goalkeeper Remigio Campomanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, FC Hambruna's goal looked a bit too open when Constancio Amorebieta came free, but Remigio Campomanes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Remigio Campomanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antero Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antero Velasco in the 19th minute of play forced FC Hambruna's goalkeeper Remigio Campomanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 minutes of play, Grumos Blancos's Asteri Gene made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Remigio Campomanes was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Giorgio Camacho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grumos Blancos's supporters rose to their feet, but Giorgio Camacho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remigio Campomanes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Remigio Campomanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antero Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC Hambruna's Normando Montes got a free kick in the 30th minute. Grumos Blancos's Giorgio Camacho couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 31st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Hambruna. Leo Cardeñosa charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leo Cardeñosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes FC Hambruna got a freekick which was hit by Leo Cardeñosa. Remigio Campomanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antero Velasco in the 35th minute of play. Jerrald Ramis kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, FC Hambruna's goal looked a bit too open when Antero Velasco came free, but Remigio Campomanes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Remigio Campomanes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Asteri Gene went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 65th minute Asteri Gene shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigio Campomanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Grumos Blancos's Antero Velasco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Remigio Campomanes. That made the score 0-4 after 68 minutes of play. FC Hambruna's Remigio Campomanes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antero Velasco in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rd minute Antero Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigio Campomanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
