Estebano Vazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 16 played minutes Paterna got a freekick which was hit by Almarín Zapico. Alicante c.f.'s attentive Llorian santillana managed to snatch the ball when Arias Marines made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pere Cabrera in the 24th minute of play forced Alicante c.f.'s goalkeeper Bernabé Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Paterna booed when Alicante c.f. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bitxintxo Munoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Malvin Fernandez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Estebano Vazquez. Paterna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Malvin Fernandez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Belarmo Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Ciceron Nueva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Alicante c.f. booed when Paterna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aliecer Jaraba didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Ciceron Nueva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Estebano Vazquez was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Estebano Vazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciceron Nueva in the 47th minute of play.

The supporters of Alicante c.f. booed when Paterna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonso Menendez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pere Cabrera blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernabé Paz having to make a save. In the 59thth minute of the game Ciceron Nueva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paterna's Estebano Vazquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 60th minute, Rodney Candamil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 played minutes, Paterna's Gamus Zafrilla shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bernabé Paz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Paterna reached it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciceron Nueva in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Estebano Vazquez saved Paterna from getting behind. Bernabé Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almarín Zapico, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After 75 played minutes Paterna got a freekick which was hit by Belarmo Romero. Alicante c.f. made a substitution. Alejandro Gomar replaced Rodney Candamil. Belarmo Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Paterna's zone, Ciceron Nueva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Estebano Vazquez came out of the goal and Ciceron Nueva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Alicante c.f. getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Bitxintxo Munoz hit a great ball. Ciceron Nueva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Malvin Fernandez took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Estebano Vazquez to make any attempt to save it. Alicante c.f.'s Bernabé Paz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Almarín Zapico in the 88th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Alicante c.f.'s Malvin Fernandez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Estebano Vazquez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alicante c.f.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
