Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eutropio Canturri in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Uzuri Roca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Donato Flores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Eutropio Canturri put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Uzuri Roca. Jude Bellingham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlo Fernandez in the 25th minute of play forced Portugalete's goalkeeper Donato Flores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Portugalete fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Portugalete's Eutropio Canturri looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 29 played minutes Portugalete got a freekick which was hit by Ibon Torres. Donato Flores made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Primitivo Palomar sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Portugalete getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ibon Torres hit a great ball. Slamet Supit might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Uzuri Roca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Slamet Supit ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eutropio Canturri in the 41st minute of play forced Real Burgos's goalkeeper Uzuri Roca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eutropio Canturri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uzuri Roca having to interfere. After the first half Portugalete were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Uzuri Roca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eutropio Canturri went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Slamet Supit might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Uzuri Roca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Slamet Supit ran back to his position shaking his head. After 58 minutes of play, Real Burgos's Humberto Montero made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donato Flores was left in no man's land by his defense there! Uzuri Roca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eutropio Canturri in the 62nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eutropio Canturri in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uzuri Roca saved Real Burgos from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eutropio Canturri got free with Uzuri Roca in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Uzuri Roca managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Portugalete's Eutropio Canturri fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Portugalete's Jude Bellingham got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Portugalete's Bras Urbina was substituted for Daniel Carvajal. 72 minutes into the game, Eutropio Canturri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Uzuri Roca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Uzuri Roca stood somewhat misplaced when Eutropio Canturri came free in front of goal and shot 1-6 to the left of him in the 75 minute. Portugalete made a substitution. Michal Scislowicz replaced Slamet Supit. Donato Flores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlo Fernandez in the 82nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eutropio Canturri in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uzuri Roca saved Real Burgos from getting behind. 85 minutes into the match, Portugalete's Michal Scislowicz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Uzuri Roca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Duarte Valcarcel came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Real Burgos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duarte Valcarcel couldn't finish the play. Michal Scislowicz scored 1-8 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Uzuri Roca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Portugalete could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Real Burgos throughout the match.
