The supporters of Albacete Balompié booed when Vellisca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Mendez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giro Idiaquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alonso Doblas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angel Buendia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giro Idiaquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaitz Zubizarreta in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Feliz Segarra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Albacete Balompié's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vellisca FC the free kick. Feliz Segarra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Feliz Segarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Vellisca FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Larpe Beloki hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, Feliz Segarra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albino Guijarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 47th minute of the match Amor Estruch shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Giro Idiaquez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

The wind increased when Arnaitz Zubizarreta made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Alonso Doblas took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Giro Idiaquez to make any attempt to save it. Angel Buendia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Albino Guijarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Burni Zubiaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giro Idiaquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaitz Zubizarreta in the 71st minute of the match. In the 73rd minute of the match, Alonso Doblas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Giro Idiaquez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Albino Guijarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliz Segarra, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Albacete Balompié's Feliz Segarra got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vellisca FC's Albino Guijarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feliz Segarra in the 79th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Arnaitz Zubizarreta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giro Idiaquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Arnaitz Zubizarreta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Giro Idiaquez. That made the score 1-3 in the 90 minute of play. 93 minutes in the game, Arnaitz Zubizarreta fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Giro Idiaquez having to interfere. Arnaitz Zubizarreta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giro Idiaquez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. The Albacete Balompié supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vellisca FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Vellisca FC.
