The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Claude Santander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qwinton Cazorla in the 26th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Osmundo Alacuart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claude Santander was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. After 31 played minutes Sporting CP got a freekick which was hit by Artzai Galnares. Nicholas Haaf scored 1-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claude Santander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Qwinton Cazorla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sporting CP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artzai Galnares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sporting CP's David Aznar got a free kick in the 76th minute. Claude Santander was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Juan Cano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-9 in the 78 minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Sporting CP's goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Haaf came free, but Claude Santander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Camp de Morvedre's zone, Victoriano Zurica stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Veto Barroso came out of the goal and Victoriano Zurica tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claude Santander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Slavoj Bartek in the 94th minute. The supporters of Sporting CP booed when Camp de Morvedre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rutenio Casado didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Juan Cano came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Camp de Morvedre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Cano couldn't finish the play.
