With a little luck, Sporting CP's Claude Santander got control of the ball when Armando Ucci tried to sneak it across the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Armando Ucci cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Claude Santander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22nd minute of the match, Armando Ucci got a very nice opportunity to score, but Claude Santander was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 24th minute, Armando Ucci reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Claude Santander. The goal made the score 4-0. Pitxu Dream Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xose Ruiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sporting CP's Serag Basel got a free kick in the 31st minute. Sporting CP's Claude Santander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting CP from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Sporting CP's Claude Santander got control of the ball when Armando Ucci tried to sneak it across the goal line. Claude Santander made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Armando Ucci sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute, Armando Ucci reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Claude Santander. The goal made the score 5-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Claude Santander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Ucci in the 56th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Sporting CP were awarded a corner. Claude Santander made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. The supporters of Sporting CP booed when Pitxu Dream Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kanake Despines didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Ucci in the 91st minute of play forced Sporting CP's goalkeeper Claude Santander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 played minutes, Pitxu Dream Team's Armando Ucci shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claude Santander came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pitxu Dream Team reached it. Sporting CP's Claude Santander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Quijana in the 97th minute of play. Pitxu Dream Team's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
