Gav Smith went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Mazinger FC's goalie and right to Liberto Merino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Mazinger FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Mikolaj Grunwalski made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Lisa Katt sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Spartak de Txurdi's Mikolaj Grunwalski got control of the ball when Lisa Katt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zdzislaw Golob showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gav Smith in the 26th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Mazinger FC's Lisa Katt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mikolaj Grunwalski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Zdzislaw Golob showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horacio Hernandez in the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Mazinger FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atilano Colsa to maneuver through the defense.

In the 53rd minute Liberto Merino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zdzislaw Golob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 58 minutes, Liberto Merino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spartak de Txurdi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liberto Merino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Mazinger FC's Peter Pilot got a free kick in the 61st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Gav Smith kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zdzislaw Golob. That made the score 2-1 in the 66 minute of play. Spartak de Txurdi made a substitution. Regis Jaen replaced Evelio Senin. After having played for 70 minutes, Filipe Meneses managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spartak de Txurdi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Meneses was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute Lisa Katt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikolaj Grunwalski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mazinger FC's goalkeeper Zdzislaw Golob, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peter Pilot's late challenge caught a Spartak de Txurdi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Peter Pilot helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Spartak de Txurdi booed when Mazinger FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Pilot didn't get a good kick on the ball. César Coelho charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed César Coelho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 80th minute, César Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mazinger FC's Emil Boltașu was substituted for Henry Johnsson. After 81 played minutes Spartak de Txurdi got a freekick which was hit by César Coelho. Peter Pilot hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Spartak de Txurdi's Gav Smith got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mazinger FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
