The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan-Luis Caballero got free with Domenech Hernandez in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the game, Juan-Luis Caballero recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Domenech Hernandez. Juan-Luis Caballero showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Sven Jansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Monteiro in the 28th minute of play. If Betão Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Betão Monteiro came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Akakla Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Betão Monteiro couldn't finish the play. Domenech Hernandez made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Juan-Luis Caballero sent off a good shot on target. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Akakla Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Giraldo Martinez was slow to take the kick. During this time Beticostrogodo's players had a chance to rest. Akakla Club's Domenech Hernandez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Akakla Club from getting a goal against them. Domenech Hernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan-Luis Caballero, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

The Akakla Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Domenech Hernandez should have stopped the shot. In the 74th minute, Akakla Club's Quilo Griego ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sven Jansson. Sven Jansson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Akakla Club's goalkeeper Domenech Hernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Asteri Pascual sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beticostrogodo's Truylos Baltanas was substituted for Godfredo Gene. Domenech Hernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hitz Acedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute Beticostrogodo were awarded a corner. Giraldo Martinez went to the cornerflag to take it. Hitz Acedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domenech Hernandez having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Beticostrogodo's Jim Morrison got a free kick in the 96th minute. Asteri Pascual could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Sven Jansson made a huge save.
