When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Ismael Rey took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Sam Guttenberg to make any attempt to save it. In the 10th minute, Xan Helguera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ionel Drâmbă took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pacorro Olmedo. Pacorro Olmedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 18th minute Ionel Drâmbă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pacorro Olmedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, Alcañiz CD's Manolo Mas made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sam Guttenberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Manolo Mas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Toribio Estrada fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Cultu's protests and gave Toribio Estrada a yellow card for diving instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ionel Drâmbă to make the kick off. Pacorro Olmedo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 56th minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. Manolo Mas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Sam Guttenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manolo Mas kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Amancio Gabirel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute, Jesús Casado made a precise shot to the right of Sam Guttenberg. La Cultu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. The supporters of Alcañiz CD booed when La Cultu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Colas Estrada didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute Ismael Rey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sam Guttenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pacorro Olmedo was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Ionel Drâmbă capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ionel Drâmbă really showed his touch with that goal: 3-3. Alcañiz CD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Amancio Gabirel scored to the left of an out of position Pacorro Olmedo, making the score, 3-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Rey in the 97th minute of play forced La Cultu's goalkeeper Sam Guttenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The La Cultu players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
