The audience thought a goal was coming when Eneko Bodelon got free with Mihnea Plăcintă in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 8 minutes, Lamberto Bencoiechea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dark Knights FC and the UNITED players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 9th match minute, Dark Knights FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lamberto Bencoiechea to maneuver through the defense. Dark Knights FC were furious when Delmiro Janpier was red carded, 10 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to Dark Knights FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Delmiro Janpier hit a great ball. When Darío Cabrol came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the UNITED fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darío Cabrol couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, UNITED's Róbert Baggio got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Morata in the 22nd minute of play forced Dark Knights FC's goalkeeper Mihnea Plăcintă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mihnea Plăcintă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbert Baggio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mihnea Plăcintă was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Róbert Baggio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 24 minute of play. If Jiří Vykoukal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Dark Knights FC's Miloš Sojka got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute, Darío Cabrol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mihnea Plăcintă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Morata in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th match minute, UNITED was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darío Cabrol to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peter Novotný to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, UNITED's Jan Oblak got control of the ball when Peter Novotný tried to sneak it across the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Dark Knights FC's Peter Novotný sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan Oblak narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Primo Saez kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Primo Saez made a great header on Dark Knights FC's corner, it was just that UNITED's Jan Oblak managed to reach the ball for a save. Róbert Baggio scored 3-0 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mihnea Plăcintă, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mihnea Plăcintă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Róbert Baggio, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The supporters of Dark Knights FC booed when UNITED was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darío Cabrol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peter Novotný recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 80th minute Alvaro Morata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihnea Plăcintă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Roland Vásárhelyi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute, Alvaro Morata made a precise shot to the right of Mihnea Plăcintă. Dark Knights FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Lamberto Bencoiechea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Jan Oblak made a huge save. Mihnea Plăcintă came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by UNITED's Alvaro Morata. But to his dismay, Alvaro Morata quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. UNITED fully deserved thier win.
