In the 20th minute Guillermo Rapado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Laerte Favoretto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonel Fernandez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Larry Herrera's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Remigio Valerón firmly grabbed it by the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Larry Herrera was the one to do the kick off. Leonel Fernandez was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Laerte Favoretto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Laerte Favoretto really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. A collision led to Sitges FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Larry Herrera hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the match, Sitges FC's goalkeeper Leonel Fernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julio Alacuart. In the 71st minute, Guido Escobar made a precise shot to the right of Leonel Fernandez. Sitges FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Laerte Favoretto took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Leonel Fernandez to make any attempt to save it. In the 81st minute, Laerte Favoretto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. Leonel Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Rapado in the 86th minute of the match. Leonel Fernandez made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Rey Northe sent off a good shot on target.
