Diamond Frist's Joseba Arribas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karlos Suarez in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karlos Suarez in the 24th minute of play forced Diamond Frist's goalkeeper Joseba Arribas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ray Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Diamond Frist's Joseba Arribas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víctor Rapado in the 26th minute of play. Joseba Arribas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Pedro Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Karlos Suarez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. In the 38th minute, José Pedro Dantas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Madeiro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. 43 minutes into the match, Tudor Ponor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joseba Arribas. Diamond Frist's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tudor Ponor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. In the 46th minute, Teodosio Eli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joseba Arribas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-9 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Agustín Mudarra made the kick off in the second half. Tudor Ponor received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joseba Arribas came out and tried to block the shot, but Tudor Ponor slotted it home off the left post making it 0-10 in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the game, Tudor Ponor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-11. Joseba Arribas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Tudor Ponor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Diamond Frist defense, José Pedro Dantas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joseba Arribas. The Diamond Frist fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joseba Arribas should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the game, Nikos Potamianos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-13. Joseba Arribas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Diamond Frist's Joseba Arribas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Diamond Frist from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodosio Eli got free with Joseba Arribas in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
