The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ger Branca in the 6th minute of play forced El Palmar's goalkeeper Indalecio Blazquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Indalecio Blazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ger Branca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 10 minutes, Mauricio Salazar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sitges's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauricio Salazar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ger Branca took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Indalecio Blazquez. Indalecio Blazquez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 19th minute of the match Ivar Carlsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Indalecio Blazquez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cedro Echeto's late challenge caught a Sitges's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cedro Echeto helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sitges booed when El Palmar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cedro Echeto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Indalecio Blazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Salazar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Indalecio Blazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ger Branca in the 28th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Sitges got a freekick which was hit by Henrik Suuroja. Curro Climent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cedro Echeto in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute of the match El Palmar got a corner. Sitges's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tuste De Pedro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Curro Climent took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bienvenido Mera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorenz De Paula received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Indalecio Blazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mauricio Salazar to make the kick off. With a little luck, El Palmar's Indalecio Blazquez got control of the ball when Mauricio Salazar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, Indalecio Blazquez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sitges's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
