Delmiro Jimenez's late challenge caught a S.D NARCEA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmiro Jimenez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th match minute, Racing Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmiro Jimenez to maneuver through the defense. Lluis Puig made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manel Quintanilla in the 10th minute. After 13 minutes of play, S.D NARCEA's Paquito Rey made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lluis Puig was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lluis Puig was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Calisto Zaplana capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Calisto Zaplana really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Caio Freire's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lluis Puig read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, S.D NARCEA's goal looked a bit too open when Delmiro Jimenez came free, but Germán Figueres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute of the match S.D NARCEA got a corner. Racing Madrid's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Félix Zărnescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Félix Zărnescu made a great header on S.D NARCEA's corner, it was just that Racing Madrid's Lluis Puig managed to reach the ball for a save. S.D NARCEA's Germán Figueres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benigno Marques in the 27th minute of play. Racing Madrid were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after S.D NARCEA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aloisio Valerón took the corner. After taking down the ball on Racing Madrid's corner Aloisio Valerón fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Germán Figueres quite easily take care of the ball. Lluis Puig made an important save on a dangerous shot by Calisto Zaplana in the 31st minute. Racing Madrid's Lluis Puig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugeniusz Milko in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Calisto Zaplana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.D NARCEA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Ekaitz Lorenzo hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Lluis Puig made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugeniusz Milko in the 39th minute. When Benigno Marques came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Racing Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benigno Marques couldn't finish the play. After 44 played minutes Racing Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Salan. Racing Madrid's Lluis Puig proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Madrid from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benigno Marques to strike the kick off in the second half. Benigno Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Germán Figueres made a huge save. Germán Figueres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmiro Jimenez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lluis Puig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugeniusz Milko in the 62nd minute of play. Lluis Puig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugeniusz Milko in the 65th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Paquito Rey made a precise shot to the right of Lluis Puig. Racing Madrid's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. The supporters of Racing Madrid booed when S.D NARCEA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugeniusz Milko didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmiro Jimenez in the 73rd minute of play forced S.D NARCEA's goalkeeper Germán Figueres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Racing Madrid booed when S.D NARCEA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Asdrubal Murcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lluis Puig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pietro Macia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute Calisto Zaplana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lluis Puig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eugeniusz Milko scored 7-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lluis Puig, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Madrid's zone, Pietro Macia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lluis Puig came out of the goal and Pietro Macia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lluis Puig came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by S.D NARCEA's Caio Freire. But to his dismay, Caio Freire quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. S.D NARCEA had played much better football throughout.
