Rogelio Garoa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Angelino Lawrence made a huge save. Angelino Lawrence was a little too slow when Rogelio Garoa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. A collision led to Velez-Malaga getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Pankracy Sliwinski hit a great ball. Angelino Lawrence was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Francesco Ibanez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Francesco Ibanez really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The audience was convinced that Rogelio Garoa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Angelino Lawrence was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 25th minute NEWPEEN were awarded a corner. Rogelio Garoa went to the cornerflag to take it. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rogelio Garoa was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Mari Huanca notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Velez-Malaga's Angelino Lawrence. Angelino Lawrence was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. NEWPEEN's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
