Crescencio Guijarros short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Polo Gene to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 12th minute, Xian Vacas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Velez-Malaga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 14th minute, Velez-Malaga's Xano Castellano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Polo Gene. Polo Gene yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Crescencio Guijarro might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Polo Gene. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Crescencio Guijarro ran back to his position shaking his head. 17 minutes into the match, R.C Huelva's goalkeeper Polo Gene had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Crescencio Guijarro. Crescencio Guijarro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Polo Gene having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Crescencio Guijarro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Polo Gene. Crescencio Guijarro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Polo Gene was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Peru Alcaraz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Peru Alcaraz really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Polo Gene successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Crescencio Guijarro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Polo Gene having to interfere. Apat Cazorla came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Polo Gene could save by the left post. 34 minutes into the match, Xian Vacas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Polo Gene. R.C Huelva's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xian Vacas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Angelino Lawrence showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pere Ricoy in the 37th minute of the match. R.C Huelva's Polo Gene played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerim Tokgöz in the 42nd minute of play. Crescencio Guijarro in the 44thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Polo Gene, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Kerim Tokgöz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Polo Gene made a huge save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

Polo Gene didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Xian Vacas went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 55 minutes, Crescencio Guijarro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velez-Malaga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Crescencio Guijarro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Braulio Xabat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xian Vacas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Polo Gene having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Velez-Malaga's Pankracy Sliwinski got a free kick in the 59th minute. Polo Gene stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Crescencio Guijarro's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Asteri Goyanes hit a great ball. If Crescencio Guijarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind R.C Huelva's goalkeeper Polo Gene, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Crescencio Guijarro in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Polo Gene saved R.C Huelva from getting behind. Polo Gene showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xian Vacas, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. If Crescencio Guijarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Crescencio Guijarro in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Polo Gene saved R.C Huelva from getting behind. Xian Vacas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Polo Gene having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Crescencio Guijarro put it in 9-0 from a short distance just to the right of Polo Gene. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Velez-Malaga fully deserved thier win.
