Maximino Nafría didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes into the game, Juan-Francisco Folch lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Sofronio Solano. If Juan-Francisco Folch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guter De Pablo might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sofronio Solano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guter De Pablo ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Rentería F's Juan-Francisco Folch slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sofronio Solano. Sofronio Solano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Feliu Santiago fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Murcia City's protests and gave Feliu Santiago a yellow card for diving instead. After 35 played minutes Murcia City got a freekick which was hit by Feliu Santiago. In the last second Sofronio Solano throw himself and got hold of the ball when Juan-Francisco Folch in the 38thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Siro Ruiz was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Murcia City getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Octavio Freire hit a great ball. Juan-Francisco Folch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sofronio Solano having to interfere. After some careless play in the Murcia City defense, Juan-Francisco Folch kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sofronio Solano. The Murcia City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sofronio Solano should have stopped the shot. In the 64th minute, Juan-Francisco Folch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rentería F fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Juan-Francisco Folch might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sofronio Solano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juan-Francisco Folch ran back to his position shaking his head. Sofronio Solano came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Rentería F's Delfino Reyes. But to his dismay, Delfino Reyes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Sofronio Solano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juan-Francisco Folch went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. After 74 played minutes Murcia City got a freekick which was hit by Ildefonso Castan. In the 75th minute, Juan-Francisco Folch ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sofronio Solano was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. Juan-Francisco Folch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rentería F's attentive Elazar Checa managed to snatch the ball when Octavio Freire made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game. 81 minutes into the match, Juan-Francisco Folch notched a goal, 11-0, to the right of Murcia City's Sofronio Solano. Sofronio Solano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Juan-Francisco Folch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sofronio Solano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Hartz Orodea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rentería F fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 12-0. Juan-Francisco Folch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan-Francisco Folch struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Sofronio Solano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rentería F. Elazar Checa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Sofronio Solano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Rentería F booed when Murcia City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rentería F walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
