Quintan Vera hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Tomás Quadros took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narciso Aznar. Narciso Aznar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pacho Quiroga in the 10th minute of play forced MLM's goalkeeper Bob Cazeneuve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bob Cazeneuve took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pacho Quiroga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, MLM's goal looked a bit too open when Pacho Quiroga came free, but Bob Cazeneuve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almir Carioca struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Narciso Aznar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MLM. 19 minutes into the game, Adán Yeste was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Old Olympians FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MLM the free kick. In the 20th match minute, Old Olympians FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adán Yeste to maneuver through the defense. Old Olympians FC's Pacho Quiroga got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fryderyk Kapera in the 25th minute of play forced MLM's goalkeeper Bob Cazeneuve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by MLM's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Guto Rocha was slow to take the kick. During this time Old Olympians FC's players had a chance to rest. Old Olympians FC's Primo Reyes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bob Cazeneuve in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the Old Olympians FC defense, Tomás Quadros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Narciso Aznar. The Old Olympians FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narciso Aznar should have stopped the shot. If Quintan Vera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute Fryderyk Kapera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Cazeneuve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th match minute, Old Olympians FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vágner de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense.
After 52 minutes, Armando Alabern mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MLM and the Old Olympians FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Armando Alabern kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, MLM's goalkeeper Bob Cazeneuve had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fryderyk Kapera. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomás Quadros in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Narciso Aznar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute, Quintan Vera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. MLM made a substitution. Anartz Tobia replaced Armando Alabern. After a rather tough play, Old Olympians FC's Quintan Vera got a free kick in the 61st minute. When MLM's Tomás Quadros in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Old Olympians FC's goalie prevented a goal. Tomás Quadros struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomás Quadros in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Narciso Aznar saved Old Olympians FC from getting behind. In the 80th minute of the match MLM got a corner. Old Olympians FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henrik Tidén ran over to the corner to take the kick. MLM's Henrik Tidén was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Narciso Aznar in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fryderyk Kapera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
