Bassam Wahbi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Bernal in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, U Alcaravaneras's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Ruiz came free, but Bassam Wahbi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guardia's Sandro Pena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Guardia from getting a goal against them. Bassam Wahbi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justino March, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Guardia's goalkeeper Sandro Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lionel Ronaldo. Eliseo Arano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Sandro Pena made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iván Velazquez in the 37th minute of play forced U Alcaravaneras's goalkeeper Bassam Wahbi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Justino March had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lionel Ronaldo to make the kick off. In the 89th minute Ceandro Castillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jos Decremer lost his temper 95 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the match had been going on for 98 minutes, Guardia's Justino March got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Bassam Wahbi. The U Alcaravaneras supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Guardia's performance. The match ended with a win for Guardia.
