Real Club Celta de Vigo's Pepe Toxeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Real Club Celta de Vigo from getting a goal against them. When Everardo Arias came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Real Club Celta de Vigo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Everardo Arias couldn't finish the play.

The supporters of U Alcaravaneras booed when Real Club Celta de Vigo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lionel Ronaldo hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. U Alcaravaneras made a substitution. Lancelot Vera replaced Jacobo Ponte. In the 73rd minute, Lionel Ronaldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Everardo Arias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bassam Wahbi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Real Club Celta de Vigo's Renato Tapia was substituted for Calisto Camacho. In the 87th minute Ceandro Castillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepe Toxeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
