Spectators: 8465 (Terracing: 6350, Seating: 1946, VIP seats: 169) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Roman Gdaniec kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute Espiridion Manrique shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Aveiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Galsino Barba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Aveiro having to interfere. After 11 played minutes Girona FC got a freekick which was hit by Berkay Yetiş. Espiridion Manrique recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Girona FC's zone, Galsino Barba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Aveiro came out of the goal and Galsino Barba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ponc Gómez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berkay Yetiş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20thth minute of the game Espiridion Manrique who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Girona FC's Cristiano Aveiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Espiridion Manrique managed to get in a good position for a shot. León FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Espiridion Manrique was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristiano Aveiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Gdaniec in the 24th minute of play forced León FC's goalkeeper Ponc Gómez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Girona FC's Joaquim Lustosa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ponc Gómez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 37th minute Roman Gdaniec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ponc Gómez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Everardo Atauri in the 39th minute of play forced León FC's goalkeeper Ponc Gómez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Espiridion Manrique got free with Cristiano Aveiro in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute there was a penalty for Girona FC. Roman Gdaniec stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ponc Gómez. 0-2. A collision led to León FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Javier Turienzo hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the match, León FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Gdaniec came free, but Ponc Gómez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The León FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Girona FC were winning 0-2.

Girona FC's Fabián Mendez was substituted for Joaquim Lustosa. Girona FC's Alfonso De Pedro was substituted for Berkay Yetiş. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Galsino Barba made a kick off. Ponc Gómez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Palau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everardo Atauri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Ponc Gómez made a huge save. 73 minutes into the match, León FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Augusto Tróia came free, but Ponc Gómez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Palau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ponc Gómez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. León FC's Eleazar Gasso was substituted for Romulo Jaen. Girona FC were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after León FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fabián Mendez took the corner. Cristiano Aveiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Santalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. 81 minutes into the match, León FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso De Pedro came free, but Ponc Gómez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Everardo Atauri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ponc Gómez having to interfere. Eleazar Gasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Girona FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
