Curcio Alonso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 85thth minute tested the skills of Cristiano Aveiro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roman Gdaniec in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Generoso Beloki saved Vodka Stars 1949 from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Roman Gdaniec managed to get in a good position for a shot. Girona FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roman Gdaniec was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Generoso Beloki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Girona FC's Kepa Molina was substituted for Joaquim Lustosa. Generoso Beloki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso De Pedro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vodka Stars 1949's Generoso Beloki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso De Pedro in the 96th minute of play. The Girona FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
