After a defensive mix-up in Gaarde FC's zone, Georg Overlund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danny Aaløv came out of the goal and Georg Overlund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Højst's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Klaus Lyngmose in the 26th minute. A nice corner shot did that Ted Ierst got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Danny Aaløv quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Bendt Marchorst hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Danny Aaløv made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georg Overlund in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Ronny Palmø was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gaarde FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Højst the free kick. In the 40th minute, Eigil Kindlev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Danny Aaløv was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Iver Stidsborg's late challenge caught a Gaarde FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Georg Overlund made a kick off. Danny Aaløv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Georg Overlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Georg Overlund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eigil Kindlev got free with Danny Aaløv in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bert Germar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Markus Ancher having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, Gaarde FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bert Germar to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, Højst's Georg Overlund sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Danny Aaløv narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Højst would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
