He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hjaelmen CF reached it. In the 43rd minute of the match Arvid Lupnov shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Allan Bollerslev showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Therkild Haarling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reinhardt Hellesøe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenny Bjørbæk, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dani Steenbæk to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Dani Steenbæk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hjaelmen CF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Hjaelmen CF's zone, Therkild Haarling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinhardt Hellesøe came out of the goal and Therkild Haarling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reinhardt Hellesøe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Therkild Haarling in the 68th minute. Dani Steenbæk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Bollerslev having to interfere. Dani Steenbæk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Allan Bollerslev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the game, Lenny Bjørbæk recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Reinhardt Hellesøe. Therkild Haarling might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reinhardt Hellesøe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Therkild Haarling ran back to his position shaking his head. 94 minutes into the match, Bøsbæk AC's goal looked a bit too open when Dani Steenbæk came free, but Allan Bollerslev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Hjaelmen CF's Reinhardt Hellesøe got control of the ball when Therkild Haarling tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bøsbæk AC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
