After 12 minutes, Gerdt Karms mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zenit and the Odense Boldklub players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Zenit's Gerdt Karms got a free kick in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terkild Mosbech in the 17th minute of play forced Zenit's goalkeeper Bjarke Bahrendorff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gerdt Karms came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Zenit fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerdt Karms couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd minute Gerdt Karms shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Randborg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joachim Acosta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bjarke Bahrendorff having to interfere. Joachim Acosta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Odense Boldklub's goal looked a bit too open when Terkil Nylund came free, but Sven Randborg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gerdt Karms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Terkild Mosbech was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Gerdt Karms dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sven Randborg, 0-1. In the 58th minute, Zenit's Gerdt Karms ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sven Randborg. Sven Randborg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Nickolas Fjordbank hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Odense Boldklub's Sven Randborg got control of the ball when Terkil Nylund tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 65th minute Terkild Mosbech shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjarke Bahrendorff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abraham Astradsson during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 65th match minute, Zenit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham Astradsson to maneuver through the defense. Bjarke Bahrendorff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Terkild Mosbech, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. When Abraham Astradsson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 81 minutes had been played. In the 82nd match minute, Zenit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham Astradsson to maneuver through the defense. Joachim Acosta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bjarke Bahrendorff having to interfere. Bjarke Bahrendorff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terkild Mosbech in the 90th minute of play. Joachim Acosta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zenit's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
