After 17 minutes, Charlie Gårdrup mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galtebjerg AC and the Kerteminde Boldklub players grew even worse after the yellow card. Klaus Dykjær showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tue Parslet, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 55th minute, Timm Toksværd ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simon Rabensteen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Klaus Dykjær stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tue Parslet's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Haakon Haarbøl was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 62nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Kenneth Kizlich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klaus Dykjær having to interfere.
