Spectators: 8515 (Terracing: 6387, Seating: 1958, VIP seats: 170) Gelmore FC's Stuart Telsing started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Egon Tobøl came out of the goal in the 2nd minute to try and stop a shot by Hønning's Per Nørbjerg. But to his dismay, Per Nørbjerg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Per Nørbjerg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Egon Tobøl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laslo Luginbühl's late challenge caught a Hønning's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Laslo Luginbühl helped the player get up and apologised. Gert Altorn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eberhardt Theda in the 8th minute of the match. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hønning's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wolfgang Aloph was slow to take the kick. During this time Gelmore FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Gelmore FC's Stuart Telsing to fire away a dangerous shot which Gert Altorn despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Egon Tobøl didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Per Nørbjerg went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 21st minute, John-Arne Riise ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Egon Tobøl was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 24th minute John-Arne Riise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egon Tobøl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Hønning booed when Gelmore FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sigismund Gjerring didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Gelmore FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Eberhardt Theda hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the game, Per Nørbjerg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Egon Tobøl was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gert Altorn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stuart Telsing's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Gert Altorn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stuart Telsing in the 39th minute. Egon Tobøl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John-Arne Riise, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 43rd minute Stuart Telsing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gert Altorn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Per Nørbjerg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Egon Tobøl made a huge save. 59 minutes into the match, Gelmore FC's goalkeeper Egon Tobøl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Per Nørbjerg. In the 60th minute, Per Nørbjerg fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Egon Tobøl, passed just outside the right post. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hønning's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wolfgang Aloph was slow to take the kick. During this time Gelmore FC's players had a chance to rest. Gelmore FC's Wolfgang Aloph was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gert Altorn in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Egon Tobøl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John-Arne Riise in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Gelmore FC booed when Hønning was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per Nørbjerg didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Per Nørbjerg came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Hønning fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per Nørbjerg couldn't finish the play. After 83 played minutes Gelmore FC got a freekick which was hit by Sigismund Gjerring. Per Nørbjerg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egon Tobøl having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Hønning walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
