The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Per Nørbjerg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Elivélton Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John-Arne Riise, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Per Nørbjerg might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elivélton Soares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Per Nørbjerg ran back to his position shaking his head. Elivélton Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John-Arne Riise in the 7th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, John-Arne Riise ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elivélton Soares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Per Nørbjerg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Elivélton Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Per Nørbjerg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elivélton Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per Nørbjerg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elivélton Soares having to make a save. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-3 when John-Arne Riise sped through Stagsted's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elivélton Soares. Per Nørbjerg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elivélton Soares having to make a save. After 43 played minutes Hønning got a freekick which was hit by Per Nørbjerg. After 45 minutes of play, Hønning's Per Nørbjerg made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elivélton Soares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John-Arne Riise made a kick off. When Hønning's John-Arne Riise in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stagsted's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 0-6 when John-Arne Riise sped through Stagsted's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elivélton Soares. If Nevjon Sheta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Per Nørbjerg got free with Elivélton Soares in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Per Nørbjerg struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Elivélton Soares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hønning. In the 75th minute, Per Nørbjerg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elivélton Soares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Benne Reijnders recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John-Arne Riise in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elivélton Soares saved Stagsted from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling John-Arne Riise in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elivélton Soares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Stagsted's Elivélton Soares got control of the ball when Per Nørbjerg tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 86th minute, Hønning's Tiago Silva dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. In the 89th minute, Per Nørbjerg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. John-Arne Riise could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Elivélton Soares made a huge save. Jonatan Byrkel kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Per Nørbjerg got free with Elivélton Soares in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded Hønning left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Stagsted.
