Fredrik Vesturklett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Phillip Glerum read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Kirkeby's Peiter Erhardt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Linus Resentvig in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Saco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sivart Lossov came free, but Phillip Glerum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 21 played minutes Kirkeby got a freekick which was hit by Thøger Fogde. 23 minutes into the match, Kirkeby's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Bochini came free, but Peiter Erhardt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Linus Resentvig to make the kick off. Peiter Erhardt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Linus Resentvig, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When Eddy Aackerblom fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kirkeby's protests and gave Eddy Aackerblom a yellow card for diving instead. After 55 played minutes Kirkeby got a freekick which was hit by Eddy Aackerblom. 55 minutes into the match, Kirkeby's goalkeeper Peiter Erhardt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Alzamendi. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kirkeby's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Peiter Erhardt was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Linus Resentvig showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 59 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter-Jan De Brouwer got free with Peiter Erhardt in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Kirkeby's zone, Chris Dhaussy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peiter Erhardt came out of the goal and Chris Dhaussy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Peter-Jan De Brouwer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Saco FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kirkeby throughout the match.
