Konrad Gielnik received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eduard Hofmann came out and tried to block the shot, but Konrad Gielnik slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 29th minute. After 37 played minutes Galatasaray Istanbul got a freekick which was hit by Karsten Schauberger. Ingmar Reimann took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eduard Hofmann. Eduard Hofmann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rainer Fochler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the game, Ingmar Reimann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. The Meiningsen FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eduard Hofmann should have stopped the shot. If Ingmar Reimann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Konrad Gielnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
