Eversten's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Werner Hesse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Eversten's Frank Musser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigi Aschenberg in the 31st minute of play. When Oliver Hommel fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sindlingen's protests and gave Oliver Hommel a yellow card for diving instead. Bonifatius Kügler shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bonifatius Kügler made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Bonifatius Kügler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eversten's supporters rose to their feet, but Bonifatius Kügler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliver Hinke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hanjo Nelsen during the 64th minute. Elmar Boschbach helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bonifatius Kügler in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliver Hinke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Bonifatius Kügler came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Eversten fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bonifatius Kügler couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sindlingen eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
