In the 5th minute of the match Özgür Bentz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benedikt Linden skillfully saved the ball. Benedikt Linden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abi Rösch, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute, Aydin Hareter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benedikt Linden made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aydin Hareter in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute Abi Rösch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedikt Linden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aydin Hareter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benedikt Linden acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 27th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Özgür Bentz. In the 29th minute, Henning Fikus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benedikt Linden made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Aydin Hareter sent off a good shot on target. If Abi Rösch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aydin Hareter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Benedikt Linden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ralek Schnäbeli hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Lasse Zeeb charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lasse Zeeb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C. Steaua's goalkeeper Benedikt Linden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Henning Fikus kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Abi Rösch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedikt Linden having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, F.C. Steaua's goal looked a bit too open when Aydin Hareter came free, but Benedikt Linden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute Abi Rösch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedikt Linden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Merten Kinkeldey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute, Abi Rösch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Steins's Abi Rösch got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 97 minutes of play, Steins's Abi Rösch made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benedikt Linden was left in no man's land by his defense there!
