Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bernhard Braunheim started the match with the kick off. The supporters of FC Ahlen booed when Groß Sarau FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernhard Braunheim didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Pim Obermann fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 12 minutes into the game, Victor Noll was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Ahlen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Groß Sarau FC the free kick. 15 minutes in the game, Ulfert Dullinger fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Theo Reinhardt having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, FC Ahlen's goal looked a bit too open when Bernhard Braunheim came free, but Marc Bahlau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Noll hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Oskar Hampel's late challenge caught a FC Ahlen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oskar Hampel helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 played minutes Groß Sarau FC got a freekick which was hit by Oskar Hampel. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fritz Trieb during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th minute Oskar Hampel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Bahlau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc Bahlau came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Groß Sarau FC's Mauro Kurth. But to his dismay, Mauro Kurth quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After having played for 39 minutes, Pim Obermann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ahlen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pim Obermann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Ahlen's Felipe Gürtler shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 43rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Theo Reinhardt but with some difficulty. The supporters of FC Ahlen booed when Groß Sarau FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fritz Trieb didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute Pim Obermann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theo Reinhardt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulfert Dullinger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pim Obermann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Placido Pangerl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Theo Reinhardt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pim Obermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Marc Bahlau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Kurth in the 57th minute of play. Theo Reinhardt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulfert Dullinger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oskar Hampel got his second yellow card in the match during the 62nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Pim Obermann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Theo Reinhardt having to make a save. 74 minutes into the match, FC Ahlen's goalkeeper Marc Bahlau had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fritz Trieb. In the 84thth minute of the game Pim Obermann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Groß Sarau FC's Theo Reinhardt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 89 minutes of play, FC Ahlen's Pim Obermann made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Theo Reinhardt was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in FC Ahlen's zone, Fritz Trieb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marc Bahlau came out of the goal and Fritz Trieb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marc Bahlau was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mauro Kurth showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 96 minute of play.
