Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jochen von der Schulenburg started the match with the kick off. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Arnold Leupold sped through Black Shaddow FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eckhard Kaluza. 13 minutes into the game, Anton Kuhn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Black Shaddow FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 the free kick. Anton Kuhn hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Atze Gödtel managed to get in a good position for a shot. SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Atze Gödtel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eckhard Kaluza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Atze Gödtel who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Eckhard Kaluza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Atze Gödtel might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eckhard Kaluza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Atze Gödtel ran back to his position shaking his head. After 21 minutes, David Federlein mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Black Shaddow FC and the SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flo Steinki in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Georg Schossow saved SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 from getting behind. In the 26th minute of the match SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 got a corner. Black Shaddow FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Klaus Bossecker ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Herbert Suhrke almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Black Shaddow FC's Eckhard Kaluza did a great save. Eckhard Kaluza was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Leopold Bednarski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Leopold Bednarski really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Anton Kuhn got his second yellow card in the match during the 32nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 booed when Black Shaddow FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anton Kuhn didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 37 played minutes SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Basemann. Tammo Keitel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Georg Schossow. SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Leopold Bednarski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 45 minutes, Atze Gödtel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atze Gödtel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute, Atze Gödtel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnold Leupold to make the kick off. Arnold Leupold struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Eckhard Kaluza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04. Georg Schossow made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flo Steinki in the 53rd minute. Arnold Leupold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. If Leopold Bednarski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atze Gödtel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 had played much better football throughout.
